AptarGroup: Aptar Food + Beverage announces the launch of its Rocket Sports cap with ACTIPH Water
Rocket is redefining beverage packaging security standards by offering the market a unique, highly visible, non-detachable tamper evident system. The sports cap complies with upcoming sustainability regulations including the proposed Single Use Plastics (SUP) Directive in Europe.
“Our goal was to develop a closure that meets consumer expectations for safety and consumer experience, while meeting growing demand from businesses to provide solutions that include sustainable packaging,” said David Haig, Director of Aptar sales, EMEA. “Partnering with ACTIPH Water to associate the Rocket sports cap with its brand is a testament to the innovative nature of both companies, where ACTIPH aims to match the overall consumer experience to the quality of its water.”
Using spring water from Shropshire, ACTIPH Water applies a process of purification, ionisation and addition of electrolytes reaching a pH level of 9.0 or more. “ACTIPH Water is unlike any other water available because of the unique way we produce it and its high alkaline level,” explained Jamie Douglas-Hamilton, Founder of ACTIPH Water. “It made perfect sense to partner with Aptar, a leader in safety standards and sustainable solutions, to deliver a sporty cap consistent with the ACTIPH brand and promising an overall premium experience.”
In addition to its visible safety, Rocket offers a “dust-free” double-walled lid design that protects the drinking area from external contaminants. A large finger recess and an audible “click” of closure make opening and closing Rocket easy and reassuring for consumers. Rocket’s hinge technology provides a wide opening angle, ensuring the elimination of lid springing. In addition, Rocket has been designed to meet child safety standards (BSDA).
To meet future sustainability standards, the closure is attached to the neck of the bottle. This system ensures that the cap and bottle remain connected throughout its life cycle and therefore increases the likelihood that the cap will be collected and sent to the recycling stream along with the bottle.
