WILMINGTON, DE – the Cleveland Charge (6-22) of the NBA G League, presented by the Cleveland Clinic, was defeated on the road by the Delaware Blue Coats (19-9), 116-101, at the 76ers Fieldhouse on Friday night.
Cleveland’s Cameron Young played in his fifth straight game with 25+ points by scoring 29 of 12 of 21 with four assists in 42 minutes. Tacko Fall posted his 14and double-double of the season, scoring 20 of 9 of 12 points from the field with 13 rebounds and three blocks in 28 minutes. Jawun Evans scored 14 points, grabbed eight rebounds and eight assists in 34 minutes off the bench.
Norvel Pell added 14 points and six rebounds in 24 minutes of relief. Mitch Ballock scored 15 of 5 of 13 points from three points. Down 87-59 early in the fourth quarter, the Charge score 42 points in the final frame, including 13 from Young and 11 from Fall, to close to 12 but could never come close. Cleveland turned the ball over 21 times for 29 points to Delaware’s 11 errors for 14 points.
Delaware’s Myles Powell came off the bench to lead the team with 26 points and seven boards in 24 minutes of relief. Charles Bassey had a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds with three blocks in 31 minutes. Shaquille Harrison had 13 points, seven assists and four steals in 31 minutes for the Blue Coats.
