Intuidex Partners with Quub to Launch Next-Generation Pico Satellite on SpaceX Rocket | State
BETHLEHEM, Pennsylvania., January 11, 2022 / PRNewswire / – Intuidex Inc, a leading defense technology and software provider, has partnered with Quub (Mini-Cubes, LLC), a satellite maker, to produce and launch a first of its kind with high functionality , low cost satellite (picosat) to provide better situational awareness and early detection of anomalies using sensor data.
Intuidex is teaming up with Quub to launch the next-generation Picoellite on SpaceX Rocket.
Satellites with this kind of sensor functionality have traditionally taken months, if not years, to build and cost hundreds of millions of dollars. In contrast, these new generation picosats take a few days to build with commercially available parts with a parts cost of less than $ 50,000. However, it is their technology that makes them as functional as their bigger and much more expensive cousins. We have combined two cutting edge technologies to create something wonderful. Quub produces the best-in-class low SWaP2 picosats: small in size, light in weight, low in power and at a low price. We are able to deploy groups of picosats with different types of sensors including electro-optical, LiDAR and SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) that can stay in orbit for up to five years with little to no debris on re-entry. But what is really a game-changer is the technology embedded in the processing of this sensor data. At Intuidex, we offer proprietary HO-LRL ™ (Higher-Order Low-Resource Learning) technology. Our technology processes and merges data from multi-source sensors and quickly identifies objects and events with high accuracy, even in situations where limited data is available to make decisions. This is edge-based processing on board the picosat, which means detection, merging, and alerting of objects and events are done entirely on board the picosat in milliseconds, resulting in Alerts actionable in downlink systems in near real time. This is the same machine learning technology found in Intuidex’s Watchman Analytics ™ suite, a successful analytics platform that has been proven successful in the defense and public safety verticals. .
The upcoming launch is the very first picosat of its kind to be launched in the United States. According to Dr. Bill Pottenger, CEO of Intuidex, “The first in a long series, this launch opens up a new market for spatial data as a service.”
